ReSouza is now releasing her third single titled, “Grenseland,” which means Borderland and the lyrics are about the feeling of not getting anywhere and wanting to give up.
Positives:
ReSouza’s combination of bossa nova rhythms with beautiful melodies inspired by Norwegian folk tunes is a winning combination. The result is an enjoyable tune that is a pleasure to listen to and soak in to the ears.
Bottom Line:
“Grenseland” opens with reSouza singing with a wonderful background of acoustic guitar, flute and bass. The chorus has solid vocal harmonies and a memorable melody. The rhythm has latin tinges and a relaxed quarter note pulse that is Norwegian folk inspired. The backing instruments of acoustic bass and drums give reSouza a romantic padding to sing over. Her singing voice is clear, and her lyrics are poignant. The beauty of reSouza is her ability to combine the best of her two cultures to create a music that is rich in texture and deep in substance. With a melding of latin jazz, pop and folk; “Grenseland” has something for everyone and reSouza has a wonderful voice that makes it all cohesive and gorgeous. That’s the short of it!
