Baby FuzZ  (Brandon Lowry also known as Sterling Fox) is a New York session player, songwriter and music producer. After moving to Montreal from New York after the 2016 election, Fox created the alter ego called Baby FuzZ. Soon after he made a full-length album based around the character, which was pieced together from recordings started in Montreal, New Jersey, Oregon, and Norway. In late 2017 Baby FuzZ released his single “Cig,” which reached #2 on Hype Machine’s Popular Charts and began to gather some critical acclaim for its unique pitch shifted sound and songwriting prowess. Baby FuzZ co-wrote “Man on the Moon” and “If I’m Dancing” on the Britney Spears album, Glory and contributed on guitar and background vocals on “Man on the Moon.”  Over the course of his career, he has written songs with artists such as, Madonna, Max Martin, and Julia Michaels, among others. Baby FuzZ’s single titled, “Burial” (Read our Review Here), was released on October 26, 2018 and his follow-up single titled, “I’m Still Holding Out for You” (Read our Review Here). Baby FuzZ is now releasing his full-length album titled, Plastic Paradise. The ten track album is a whirlwind of styles, solid songwriting and Baby FuzZ’s unique vocal style that paris R&B with pop and rock through a wide vocal range and colors.

Positives:

Baby FuzZ has a vast variety of styles on Plastic Paradise, the common thread is his excellent songwriting and his strong vocal skills.

Bottom Line:

Baby FuzZ has a rich vocal arsenal, combine that with his ear for the unusual melody and song form, and you have something special. Throughout Plastic Paradise Baby FuzZ takes his vocals to heights that inspire and has full-throated screams that places emphasis on all the key climaxes. Baby FuzZ straddles the line of effectively combining the slightly bizarre with the strange melodramatic to generate a sound that is fresh, genre bending and pleasantly surprising. The vocal harmonies enrich the tunes to compliment the melodic phrases. Baby FuzZ’s various instrumental parts are just as creative as his singing and melodies. The result is the ten songs flow naturally and maintain interesting subtleties that will keep the listeners attention. Mixed by Chris Connors and mastered by Emily Lazar and Pete Lyman. Produced by Aksel Axxe Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Baby FuzZ, the sounds are full, and easy to hear. Baby FuzZ delivers a strong album with Plastic Paradise. With emotion and realism in his lyrics and songwriting that will entertain. You will want to get this one as it is the GOOD stuff. Talented artist. That’s the short of it!
