Fever Days, What’s Your Problem Review

Coming from across the pond, a sound is being generated from Newcastle upon Tyne a four-piece indie rock band called Fever Days. The bands songwriter Oli Green started the project after his music started to build a local reputation. As a result, Green needed to expand his sound, which eventually became the full band now called Fever Days.  They have a sound that sits in the intersection of lo-fi alt-pop and new wave. Green’s vocals are the perfect vehicle to travel through this crossroads too, with a sound that has edge and a little rock. Fever Days are releasing their debut single, “What’s Your Problem?” via the Kaleidoscope record label.  It’s easy to see why Green gained such a popular local reputation, his songwriter is luminescent. That’s the short of it!

Positives:

The single offers an ineffaceable feel, with a cross between punk, rock and pop. Fever Days won’t leave you chilled, it gets right to the heat of the matter.

Bottom Line:

The four-piece band from Newcastle, Fever Days, has got our attention with their debut single, “What’s Your Problem?” The new wave elements of punk guitar and electronic music are in perfect balance with the raw unpolished lo-fi alt-pop production and influence on the song form. Green’s singing and the harmonies are rock-solid. There is just a hint of British accents in there, which adds a flavor that spikes. The press release states Fever Days is working hard to develop an energetic and quirky live show, that’s a great analogy to sum up their first single. Fever Days is off to a great start with “What’s Your Problem?”
