All the Luck In The World is a Berlin-based Irish trio comprised of Neil Foot, Ben Connolly and Kelvin Barr. The band formed in 2011 and has since developed a sound that has elements of rock, pop and folk all rolled into one sound that is subtle, yet complex and musically inviting. All the Luck In The World is releasing a new contemplative single, “Tested & Tried.” The trio puts focus on songwriting and lyrics, and “Tested & Tried” is no exception. The singing is breathtaking, with full vocal harmonies set against an acoustic ostinato figure. All The Luck In The World has a sound that is relaxed while still providing movement and musical charm. That’s the short of it!

Positives:

Great songwriting. The song has an interesting ostinato pattern that winds through the harmony. The vocal harmonies are striking

Bottom Line:

All The Luck In The World combines rich vocals and acoustic instruments to create a musical pastel of color on their new single “Tested & Tried.” Foot’s vocals are tender, yet commanding, as he unfolds the melody. Lush vocal harmonies float in and out to emphasize various musical phrases. The song form unfolds in an interesting manner, as does the harmonic movement. The background music builds as the song moves. The interlude is beautiful and showcases a surprising feel change and three-part vocal harmony. Developed themes that are taken through various colorizations and instruments. All The Luck In The World has a solid Alt-folk gem with “Tested & Tried.”
