Positives:

M’Lynn has a song that develops with nice layering, feel changes and a memorable melody.

Bottom Line:

M’Lynn has a soulful delivery as she brings in elements of jazz and old school soul. “Paralyzed” has wonderful vocal harmonies, horn parts, piano figures and a groovy guitar solo. The song builds to a high point which shows M’Lynn’s range and control. Her bluesy ornaments bring a richness to the melody. The lyrics are easy to relate to and tell a story that is real. Even though there are plenty of elements of electro pop in “Paralyzed,” M’Lynn’s vocal skills and development of the backing instruments makes “Paralyzed” a standout single. That’s the short of it!
