Jenny JAM is a London born; Los Angeles based soul-pop singer/songwriter. Jenny has a diverse background that includes musical theatre, acting and modelling. Her musical influences range from jazz, soul and blues, to the classic 60’s rock bands including The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac. Jenny explains, “Amy Winehouse’s real and deeply honest lyrics mixed with her classic 60’s style jazz, has definitely made me feel that as an artist I can be more free to express who I really am, in the style I really want.”  That is the core of Jenny’s musical appeal, which is her lyrics that sincerely convey a message that listeners can relate to and find an emotional connection. Jenny is releasing her latest single titled, “Morning Bottle.”

Positives:

Moody vocals, full vocal harmonies and a music setting that is well recorded and produced.

Bottom Line:

“Morning Bottle” is a solid pop tune that also pulls in some rock influence to keep things interesting. The lyrics encourage and highlight turning negatives into positives. In fact, “Morning Bottle” narrates the singers struggles when first arriving in Los Angeles. She reveals, “The message is ultimately that no matter what happens to you, who screws you over, who takes everything from you, abuses you, tries to destroy you or destroy relationships that mean everything to you; no one can take away who YOU are. Always stay true to yourself and believe in you, then you will rise out of the ashes no matter what happens.” Produced by Ikuma Matsuda (formerly of Interscope Records), the sounds are balanced and supportive of Jenny’s solid vocal skills. “Morning Bottle” is accompanied by a stirring cinematic video that captures the core of Jenny’s musical message. "Morning Bottle" foreshadows the solid sounds yet to come on Story of My Life, Jenny’s upcoming debut EP. If the single and video are a prelude of what’s to come, it sounds like we are in store for a strong debut EP from Jenny. That’s the short of it!
