For fourteen years the California based reggae group Rebelution has been bringing their modern sound to the world of reggae with their special blend of rock, R&B and jazz stamped onto the traditional Jamaican reggae sound. The band is made up of: Eric Rachmany as the songwriter, lyricist, singer and guitar player, also Rachmany is on keyboards making him an integral part of the bands sound, Rory Carey is the drummer and Marley D. Williams is on bass. The band is known for their touring and their live shows are touted as a blast! Falling Into Place, their 2016 studio album, became the band’s fourth release to top the Billboard reggae chart, earning them their first ever Grammy nomination in the category of Best Reggae Album. The Rebelution phenomenon continues with their sixth studio album called, Free Rein released on June 15, 2018. Produced by acclaimed Jamaican producers Don Corleon (Rihanna, Sean Paul) and Winta James (Damian Marley, Chronixx). The material on the new album still has the reggae tradition, but the band is expanding on the Rebelution style and Jamaican roots vibe. That’s the short of it!

With strong melodies and various styles and grooves, Free Rein is chalk full of the classic Rebelution sound, that’s signature is a special blend of rock and reggae. Rachmany’s lyrics are positive and the songwriting is imaginative. An excellent set of jams, make Free Rein a must for any playlist!
