Wildwood Kin is a band of three very relatable young women who create music equally relatable that deals with triumphs and tragedies, like the rest of us. Categorized as an English contemporary family alt folk trio, the group is comprised of sisters Beth (bouzouki) and Emillie Key (guitars) and their cousin Meghann Loney (drums).   Wildwood Kin fans are primed for the release of their self-titled sophomore album on 4th October, the group is sharing a second single titled “Beauty in Your Brokenness.”

Positives:

The trio has the most beautiful harmonies; the kinship of their voices is angelic. Like Wilson Phillips, their pristine voices resonate with uplifting messages.

Bottom Line:

“Beauty in Your Brokenness,” is an homage to the human journey the hairline cracks caused by heartbreak or tragic occurrences can leave the human psyche battered and bruised. Wildwood Kin taks that premise and illuminates the beauty within. Beth explains, “Have you heard about kintsugi? It is a Japanese art where they take broken pottery and put it back together using lacquer, dusted with gold and silver powder, to make a unique piece of art with intricate patterns only the brokenness creates. It is a reminder that our imperfections, mishaps and tragedies shape us and make us who we are.” The group is not without this emotion of putting tragedy into focus, Meg Loney’s brother, sadly committed suicide is paid homage on their first single on the impending full length EP, titled “Never Alone,” both singles are a clear marker to the powerful messaging of their forthcoming album. That's the short of it!
