We reviewed The Matchstick Skeletons single “Told Ya So,” in November of 2018, (Read the Review Here) it was apparent then they had a coursing sound that crossed between the soulful sounds of James Brown and the grittiness of Lemmy. Shaking your head?  Don’t worry these chart-topping creatives are back at it again, this time with an EP titled The Know How.  The band members are: Neu Mannas, Matty Carolei, Ryan Stead and Cole Friesen, these boys are taking things to the next level.

Positives:

I still stand by the formula of crunchy guitars, pounding drums and rock-steady attitude the inferno is lit and the Matchstick Skeletons are ready to pulverize.

Bottom Line:

Recorded in their native land of Canada each track offers its own personality. The single “I Told You So,” is a gritty tune, that throbs with rock steady anthems, while “Already Down,” has a swirling sonic with fuzzed backing vocals that add to the smoothness of the tune. “So Far Away,” is a grooving tune that stings like a bee as it dances through voluminous guitar a and thrashing drums and groove driven guitar lines. “I’m The Dog,” ends on a positive note with a feel-good rock tune, you will find yourself singing to long after the listen. That’s the short of it!
