Bad Marriage is a Hard Rock 5-piece ensemble hailing from the elite Boston music scene. The band has a beautiful edge of 70’s and 80’s Hard Rock rolled up into a big phat sound of crunchy guitar, solid hard-hitting rhythm section and attitudinal front man that has the smokin’ pipes to take things over the top. Starting in 2015, Bad Marriage continues to work on refining and clarifying their signature sound and high-energy shows. The band is comprised of: Jonny Paquin – (vocals); Mike Fitz – (lead guitar); Ian Haggerty – (rhythm guitar); Todd Boisvert – (bass); and Michael Delaney – (drums). In October 2017, Bad Marriage released their debut EP, Knock 3 More Times, which contained six tracks. That same year, Bad Marriage was voted ‘Best of the Year’ (2017) by Classic Rock Magazine. Bad Marriage is set to release their debut full-length album later this year. Now, they are releasing their second single titled, “Diablo,” off their up-coming self-titled album. With twin guitars laying down a serious sound propelled by a hammering rhythm section, Jonny P’s aggressive vocals takes us through a well-constructed song that is energetic and melodic. That’s the short of it!

Positives:

Bad Marriage presents a sound that focuses on melodic vocals anyone can appreciate, crunchy riffs and an exciting melodic guitar solo.

Bottom Line:

Bad Marriage is a solid Hard Rock band that encompasses the guitar strengths and drive of the 80’s with a 70’s vibe and power front man singing melodic lines that marry the two eras. Starting with a warmly distorted dual guitar rift with hits from the bass and drums, “Diablo” is up and kickin’. Paquin’s voice is strong and full throughout his range. The song form is straight ahead, the band does not try to reinvent the wheel, just keeping it rolling with rock. The pre-chorus is catchy and builds to the chorus. The song blends hard rock and classic rock with high pitched, wailing vocals and excellent musicianship. Bad Marriage is establishing they are a band with their own sound and proving that this is still an exciting time for Hard Rock music.
