Jason Saltiel is a prolific artist who has dabbled in a few genres over the last few years: the retropop “Jason Saltiel,” the late-night jazz “Wait Until the Night,” the literate folk-pop “Late Bloomer” and the alt-country “Country Boy.” In December Saltiel is headed back to NYC to finish up his electropop effort “Black Box.” The singles “Near Dark”, “I Surrender” and “New World Order” are already on Spotify. Saltiel is also the writer/director/composer of the feature film Beach House which will be released in February. Archstone Distribution has acquired worldwide rights to the new thriller film. “Dungeon of My Heart,” released in August of 2018, was written for the feature film. His latest single “Devil Woman,” just released in November of 2018.
Positives:
With an alt-country-rock sound Saltiel is reverent and inspired. “Devil Woman,” is laden with strong hooks and an infectious melody.
Bottom Line:
Clearly Saltiel has a way with his pen, from feature films to hitmaker tunes, he invites the listener on his twisted journey. The tune opens with a bit of alt-twang and develops into a jangling guitar driven melody that divagates to a bridge section that slinks into a soul-based vibe. Saltiel has a knack for interesting song forms. His matter of fact vocal style is just as interesting as his tunes. Its clear he has a creative soul and “Devil Woman,” is the perfect vehicle to invite the listener to ride along. That's the short of it!
