Bridges is a five-piece rock band based in England that has fully loaded guitar driven sound and stout vocals that serve up transatlantic rock. The band on Rosecoloured Records, an Independent UK Record Label based in South East England has been supporting and releasing new and under-the-radar music since 2012. Bridges is: Ethan Proctor (guitar, vocals); Henry Matthews (bass); Josh Redman-Thomas (guitar); Tom Farkas (drums) and Chessa Williams (piano, vocals). The band has released two EPs, and are now releasing their second single, “Ghouls,” off their up-coming album titled, On and On Like This. Frontman Proctor has a strong presence and solid vocals and the band’s songs are as interesting as they are well-written. That’s the short of it!
Positives:
Warm and resilient vocals, with a song form the flows nicely. The band grooves with a rock sound that is appealing and uniform in sound.
Bottom Line:
Bridges is a full sounding rock band from England that is presenting rock music with soaring vocals, layered instrumentation and well-written songs. Their latest single “Ghouls” has a video from Sam Kinsella and Sam’s House Films (of the band Monarks, who has previously made videos for bands like Twin Atlantic), which shows off the Bridges’ dynamic performance style. “Ghouls” intricately layered guitar parts create a signature sound. The robust male/female harmonies are tightly woven, and the song form highlights multiple feels, band hits, and an arching build that leaves the listener satisfied. What Bridges offers is the full-package, there isn’t a weak link in their sound. A must listen.
