Beacon is Anna Vogelzang’s seventh studio album. The Boston-born, Los Angeles located, multi-instrumentalist has put forth a collection of tunes that celebrate her new community. Co-produced with Tyler Chester and set to release in October. The album celebrates her journey of building community from coast to coast and the culmination of those experiences and how they Beacon her life. “Icarus,” is an expansive song, with changing feels and textures Vogelzang surrenders to the unknown and acknowledges her reigning beacon of transition. Her warm and engaging voice is equally matched by her bandmate’s supportive rapport. Each note intertwines with a beauty that enlightens with an expansive sound. Her approach towards life and music is “rooted in the belief that communal experience heightens the creative process, and that collaboration serves to remind us that the truest sense of home is within ourselves.” This is never more evident than on her single “Icarus.” That’s the short of it!
