Maria Elena Little is a singer and songwriter that is bringing her unique experience from living in three countries to her music. “I was born in Iowa, moved to Netherlands, and now live in Guangzhou, China,” says Little. “I make it a point to travel to Vermont every year to see relatives I have there, and I have made several trips to Ecuador to visit with my mother’s side of the family.” All of those experiences and Little’s love of poetry can be heard in the single, “One Last Time.” The second single from her up-coming EP titled, Mindspace will feature six songs. Four of the songs were recorded in China, but all were produced in Denver by Matthew Tryba, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Maroon 5 and Ariana Grande. “One Last Time” is a relaxed mid-tempo song that focuses on Little’s clear voice and beautiful lyrics. That’s the short of it!
Positives:
Well produced with full sounding instrumentation. Little’s voice is easy to hear, and her lyrics and diction are beautifully performed.
Bottom Line:
Little has a unique blend of pop, with a hint of country in her sound that will appeal to a wide audience. Little has a love of poetry and that streams into her lyric writing too. Both allow for her to express her emotions, and she conveys those emotions clearly through “One Last Time.” With a solid pop beat, keyboard and acoustic guitar, “One Last Time” features Little out-front, so the listener can hear Little’s character come through in her vocal style. Her range is solid, and the song has an even flow. Little’s ability to create emotional lyrics, while communicating that emotion through her singing is the cornerstone to her sound and the success of “One Last Time.”
