Karen Atkins Review: In My Room 2

Can music change the world, well it just might? Especially in the hands of healer Karen Atkins, I say healer because truly after listening to her music, you feel a sense of healing and serenity; and you may not exactly know why until you dig in to the details of the tuning.  Atkins has not only created a release that is specifically in a tuning of A = 432 Hz tuning, which some claim to have a warmer, more harmonious vibration, more aligned with nature, but Atkins took this theory on the road and called it the Frequency Tour to test the theory.  The result was, “although 44% of the participants said that they don’t normally listen to this type of music, 99.5% of the participants reported that the perceived stress and discomfort levels either stayed the same or decreased.  Stress levels decreased for 74.6% of the participants, while discomfort levels decreased for 55.2%” says Atkins. That’s the short of it!

Positives:

Whether listening for health sake, medicinal purposes or stress relief, these are not tunes to be overlooked for the sake of healing only. Each original song is thoughtful, well-crafted lyrics that resonate on their own merit. Atkins has a wonderful way of crafting a lyric to be quite meaningful, and on select covers, her sense of arrangement and style is clearly evident.

Bottom Line:

Great music by a refined vocalist who can carry you away with her glorious voice, and endearing writing. Is the tuning a plus, it may very well be, and I was delighted to see that Atkins followed it through with action and interaction, not just a claim. Either way, this is stunning music, meant to be enjoyed.
