Jaclyn Manfredi is a vocalist and songwriter that has been making a reputation for herself with her profound singing abilities. Performing at the acclaimed Apollo Theatre and Carnegie Hall in New York City at 17. Manfredi auditioned for The Voice and made it through to the second round. She won the IMTA national singing talent competition in 2017. Manfredi has over 25,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Because of her soulful singing, a SONY/ATV backed Motown tribute project has asked her to contribute two Motown cover songs, due out later this year. When Manfredi’s not rehearsing her material with her band, or training with legendary vocal coach Don Lawrence (Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston), you can find her sitting at a piano weaving melodies and lyrics about her experiences. Manfredi is releasing a new single “Psychic,” a spirited, horn filled, retro-pop experience that showcases her fluid singing abilities.
Positives:
A nice mix of styles, with funk, soul and a little jazz is mixed with this pop selection that is full and creative.
Bottom Line:
With a catchy melody, “Psychic” is filled with Manfredi’s rich tone and soulful singing. Influenced by classic soul, R&B, and contemporary funk, “Psychic” has horn lines, interesting vocal harmonies and bluesy glissandos. The lyrics of “Psychic” are about using one’s intuition in a relationship when getting mixed signals. Produced by Alex Houton of AHM Media and mixed by six time Grammy Award winner, Brian Vibberts, Manfredi’s voice rings clear over the full instrumentation. This is the perfect blend of old school sounds with a hip contemporary vibe. That’s the short of it!
