Brian Walker, Conflicted Review
Brian Walker is a mix engineer, producer, singer and songwriter that attended Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts from 2015-2018. Walker is known for his extensive live looping, running sampled drums, guitar, piano, a Moog synthesizer, and orchestral samples through his RC-300 looper to create a full, dynamic sound. Walker has a new single out called, “Conflicted.” Walker mixed, produced, and sang lead and background vocals. His style is firmly rooted in the pop genre as he surrounds himself with warm sounding synths, drummed beats and vocal harmonies. That’s the short of it!
Positives:
Walker has a warm voice that is easily able to convey his musical ideas with solid pitch control and clear rhythmic placement. The track is polished with spit and shine
Bottom Line:
Brian Walker is a pop vocalist that is building his reputation with his vocal tone and control that transmits emotion and musicality with his new single, “Conflicted.” Walker’s vocal inflections and embellishments have a soulful feel, bringing elements of gospel and R&B. The track has multiple layers of instrumental parts and vocal harmonies that unfold through the form, helping to keep things interesting and tasteful. The hi-hat is a little much, but the rest of the buoyant production is spot on. What Walker brings to the table is sheer talent, which in the glut of music being released in today’s times is refreshing.
