Positives:
A powerful tune that delivers a positive message through a well-written melody and hip instrumentation.
Bottom Line:
"Heartbeat" is a authoritative anthem with lyrics that speaks on a timely issue that faces American women under an increasingly hostile environment. Aysola augments her deft singing with the full sounds of the Resistance Revival Chorus. “Heartbeat” is the first of three singles which are all produced by Samrat Chakrabarti and engineered by John Clark. The opening sounds are percussion, a catchy piano figure and the Resistance Revival Chorus. Aysola’s warm vocal style delivers the powerful lyrics with emotion and authority. As the form unfolds, layers of percussion and choir pads fill the space under Aysola. The result is “Heartbeat” has an emotional impact that grows over time. For the last time through the form, Aysola rises in her vocal range and sings an array of impressive vocal fills. Powerful music with a message. That’s the short of it!
