Aaron Taos is a Brooklyn based vocalist and songwriter. Taos had a busy year in 2018 with the release of his album Birthday Boy (CLICK HERE TO READ REVIEW). Not afraid to take chances and explore various styles, Taos is always coming out with interesting songs in the alternative pop genre. The Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter usually keeps a solid foundation of electronic-tinged indie pop sounds running through his music. His lyrics are personal and grab the listeners attention too. Taos has a new single titled, “Higher.” Again, his melodic style is a nice mix of indie pop and a little rock influence on this one.

Positives:

Aaron Taos is pushing the meters on this one, with his distorted vocals he sings a catchy melody that will float on the brain for hours.

Bottom Line:

Taos is certainly on the road to success. Obviously with his growing catalog he is putting in the work and his fan base growth reflects his diligence as well. His music has a wide appeal that is easy to relate to and enjoy. With “Higher,” Taos’ singing style and song form is clear, well-structured and delivers a catchy melody with authority. The counterpoint between the background vocal lines and the lead melody is interesting. Also, the choice to drive the vocals a little to distortion gives the tune an edge that matches the lyrics and mood. Solid indie pop and that’s the short of it!
