The Swoons and Tansviolet have teamed up to bring us rich tones that blend elements of pop, indie, electronica, and old school R&B. The Swoons, consisting of three Berklee College of Music graduates, Matt Underwood, Tony Ann and Giacomo Timbrello offer a transcendent sound together collectively. Transviolet consist of lead vocalist Sarah McTaggart, with Judah McCarthy, Michael Panek, and Jon Garcia as musicians and writers. Together they form a group of extremely talented musicians with a talent for solid production, songwriting and melodies. The new single “Lost Frequency,” featuring Transviolet is laid-back in tone with McTaggart sounding especially sensual.

Positives:

The form has variety, builds over time and all the parts are easy to hear and understand.

Bottom Line:

The Swoons and Tansviolet create a sound that melds beautifully. Full, rich vocal harmonies, solid beats and clear supportive production. With one verse presented in a male voice and one in a female voice, the song offers a salient variety and a sense of development. The beat is relaxed, excellent piano playing, and the harmony is stimulating. The form is clear and has various feels. The elements of electronica are strongly present. The lyrics speak to the feeling of distance and disconnect in a relationship. “Lost Frequency” a wonderful amalgamation of the group’s collective skills. Their collaborative effort is a winning sound that is immediately likeable. That’s the short of it!
