Tyler Marenyi is a Los Angeles bas DJ and electronic music producer, better known by his stage name NGHTMRE. His sound is full of dynamics and pulls from a diverse sound palette to create his unique sound art. This year has been busy for NGHTMRE, with releases and collaborations, including his remixes of Fat Joe’s classic hit “Lean Back” and DJ Snake’s recent “Here Comes The Night,” a feature on PnB Rock’s new album in collaboration with Wiz Khalifa, and of course all the tracks from his new EP. NGHTMRE’s magic is his powerful shows and this year he has performed at Lollapalooza, Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, Creamfields and his own Gud Vibrations Festival in SoCal with SLANDER. NGHTMRE teamed up with EDM specialist Big Gigantic to create the new single “Like That.” With vocals, big beats, full horns, but most importantly, the rise and fall for the drop pay off.

Positives:

Big production throughout, “Like That” has a wonderful flow and energy.

Bottom Line:

Opening with horns playing a phrase from the jazz standard, “Softly As In A Morning Sunrise,” “Like That” proceeds to meld organic sounds with electronica in a way that is stimulating, entertaining and highly creative. With Big Gigantic's live instrumentalism (saxophone and drums) supported by NGHTMRE's signature bass/trap sounds, the vintage vocals sit in a modern world of dance/electronica sound that are musical, melodic and stimulates the body to move. NGHTMRE shows us again why he is one to keep an ear on because of his open-minded approach to music and the possibilities of a solid collaboration. So, check it out, you’ll certainly “Like That” NGHTMRE. That’s the short of it!
