Billy Hammer is combining electronic music with rock energy through his talents as a songwriter and performer. Hammer is a guitarist, violinist, vocalist and pianist. With a steady beat that is indicative of dance music, this twenty-one-year creates a sound that lets both electronic and acoustic instruments live in an energetic world of sounds. Hammer is currently studying at UCLA, but he has still found time to release a new single, “Young Love.” The is the future of electronica; hip guitar and violin with synths and deep beats. That’s short of it!

Positives:

Solid guitar and violin playing with a wistful vocal.

Bottom Line:

Hammer is bringing his talents on violin, guitar, piano/keyboard and vocals to the land of electronica. “Young Love” has a cinematic vocal line with a slinky melodic riff from a slightly distorted strat that book ends it. Hammer builds the vocals with both harmony and counterpoint, to give each phrase shape and movement. He lets the music breath with clear sections that flow from one to another. A different take on the usual fare, Hammer is certainly onto something very special with his talented playing and programming. Tasty material all around.
