Parisian-born AxMod, aka Foucault Jannin is a dynamic producer in the French music scene. His remixes for the likes of Chromeo, Saint Germain, Florence & The Machine, Major Lazer and Justin Timberlake have cemented his place as a top-notch mix-sylist. Brought up in an apartment just next to the Rock En Seine festival in Paris, AxMod caught the electronic music bug as a teenager, inspired by iconic French artists, from Cassius, Breakbot and Daft Punk to Martin Solveig, Alan Braxe and Modjo. AxMod is a schooled classically trained pianist from the age of just six, which lends itself to his exciting productions. Signed by Universal Music, with his early productions went viral on the tropical house circuit, alongside the likes of Kygo, Bakermat and Klingande. His debut four-track EP Brooke, a fully instrumental project was released by independent French imprint, Sidekick Music, the Brooke EP was accompanied by beautiful and quirky graphics from Toulouse based artist Geikaho, which would prove to become an important theme of future releases. AxMod’s latest acclaimed single “Talk,” features the boys at DiRTY RADiO, and has already reached up to 600-thousand streams on Spotify. His latest single “Walk Away,” released October 31, 2018 is quickly gaining ground. That’s the short of it!
Positives:
Solid production, with sick beats that offer a disco underpinning. Dancefloor ready!
Bottom Line:
Featuring the vocals of US singer OMZ, AxMod shifts his paradigm heading back to his disco roots for this track. Taking the listener on a stroll back to the clubs and hitting the dancefloor with beat inspirations from his youthful upbringing. The track is upbeat, filled with heavy hooks and danceable rhythms. It’s clear to see his inspiration is a timely one, as dancefloor hits are about to make a comeback, and per usual AxMod is leading the pack.
