Lisa Nicole, Wait on Me Review

Lisa Nicole is a Canadian based Country music singer and songwriter. She has built a solid reputation for writing story-driven lyrics fused with a modern country sound. Nicole grew up hunting, fishing, camping, and embracing country music. Early influencers were the sounds of Shania Twain, Martina McBride, and the Dixie Chicks. Nicole discovered and developed her love of singing at the age of 8. The following years found her singing regularly at jam sessions at Kootenay and completing a Songwriting and Performance diploma with a Major in Vocals from Selkirk College of Contemporary Music and Technology. In 2013 she released her debut EP, It Got Ugly, and a showcase at the 2013 Canadian Country Music Awards. In 2014 Nicole received the BC Country Music Association Award nomination for the Ray McAuley Horizon Award and Music Video of the Year. She finished the year strong by winning the 2015 BCCMA/Music BC Artist Development Project, which included a Nashville songwriting trip and placement in Canada’s Music Incubator 10-week Artist Entrepreneur Program. Nicole’s award manifested into the 2016 EP release of Come Find Me, produced by Tom McKillip and Carly McKillip, which led to a coast-to-coast Canadian tour, three single radio releases, two more BCCMA nominations, a once-in-a-lifetime impromptu on-stage performance with Keith Urban at a Nashville pop-up concert and back-to-back Canadian Music Week Showcases in 2017 and 2018. As a part of the 2018 Canadian Country Music Week in Hamilton, she connected with CCMA award-winning producer Jeff Johnson. Now Nicole is releasing her new single “Wait on Me” from her up-coming 2020 fall album Where the Wild Hearts Beat, which is produced by Johnson.

The song form and lyrics both tell a story that is presented with believable passion and honesty. The modern country style fits Nicole’s musical personality, which comes across in the music.
