Positives:
Her songwriting delves into both autobiographical and ostensibly encouraged stories surrounded by a lush, folk-Americana musical landscape that is secured with authenticity and honesty.
Bottom Line:
Nicola has a voice that raptures the lyrics, you are instantly transported to a place that feels like a welcomed friend. “Night Comes to Call,” employs a smartly written storyline that enthuses the listener to grab Nicola’s hand and enjoy the journey. Her voice is resonating and conveys a fulfilling listen. Gord Tough weighs in with an expressive electric guitar solo. Of note is Aaron Goldstein on pedal steel, adding a texture to the single that gives it just the right amount of country twang. That’s the short of it!
