Alban Fùam Review: <br>Irish Jigs n’ Reels 2

Irish Jigs n’ Reels is Alban Fùam’s new album that mixes various jigs and reels to form ten tracks of authentic Irish playing. Released on the Maxy Sound label, Alban Fùam (from the Gaelic “celebration of light and sound”) is an Italian band whose music describes Ireland by performing captivating Irish and Celtic songs, skillfully rearranged with a rather modern flavor and unique taste. The music blends together folk, country, jazz and Celtic traditions. The playing is virtuosic, with violin duets supported by driving guitar and percussion, the performances are riveting and have overtones of contemporary international folk and country-bluegrass colors. Irish Traditional Music is in good hands with this group, the most relevant collection of Irish/Celtic music to hit the airwaves this year! So that’s the short of it.

Positives: Captivating Irish and Celtic songs with skillful arrangements and virtuosic playing.

Bottom Line: Irish/Celtic music done with passion and good taste, just like a fine whisky.
