New Jersey based Alternative-Indie group OWEL release their new single, “I Saw Red,” off their impending album Paris, destined to be a Spring breakout. Paris was co-produced by vocalist Jay Sakong and Gates’ vocalist Kevin Dye and will be released on March 29th, 2019.  Paris is the follow-up to their 2016 album Dear Me. Lead singer Jay Sakong explains, “I had no idea that it was going to end up being the first single we released. It’s different than the rest of the record, so I was a bit unsure. However, it’s the most honest and straightforward song I’ve ever written, and I think there’s a real honesty and innocence in that simplicity.” That’s the short of It!

Positives:

Songwriting that flows organically surrounded by beautiful sounds, singing and vocal harmonies. The harmonic progression is very nice., with a melody that is colorful and catchy.

Bottom Line:

“I Saw Red,” offers tastefully arranged strings with a touch of electronic colorizations for an ethereal and chimerical vocal listening experience. The group has keenly focused in on their sound, creating a texturally rich and pure sound. The band interacts with solid chemistry and in service of the song for an collaborative melody.
