Jax Hollow, High Class Bitch Review
Jax Hollow is creating a solid sound of classic rock, blues, and Americana, all focused through her soulful vocals, raw lyrics, and real, authentic guitar chops. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, she took her musical skills down to Nashville. She has toured with some of Music City’s top musicians and increased her presence as a songwriter and performer. On December 18th, Hollow released “High Class Bitch,” the first single from her upcoming album releasing in February 2021 titled Underdog Anthems. The singer-songwriter and shredder caught the attention of classic rock giant Ron Nevison (Led Zeppelin, Heart), which led her to record two demos off the album as One-Take videos, “Drift Together” and “Wanted! Woman.” Both videos were filmed in a single take with no edits and no autotune — capturing the genuine essence of Hollow’s core songwriting and performance values — honesty, passion, and a relatable intimacy. Underdog Anthems was recorded and produced by the 90 million+ album-selling legend Michael Wagener (Metallica, Skid Row, Extreme, etc.).
“High Class Bitch” is a bluesy biting rocker featuring Hollow (writer, vocalist, guitarist), Angela Lese (drums), and Leilani Kilgore (bass). The video was filmed by Bad Iguana Productions at 1087 Studios, and the music was produced, recorded, and engineered by the legendary Michael Wagener at WireWorld Studios, Nashville, TN. Singing a playing with plenty of hard-rockin’ attitude, Hollow delivers the goods in style. The music is balanced and well-recorded, the riffs are catchy, and the lyrics and melody are memorable. Hollow’s guitar playing is badass, aggressive, and melodic. The trio certainly has a sound, and the first single makes the ears perk for the great sounds to come. That’s the short of it!
