FADE ON, Last Review

Bending our ears, defying our rules and ignoring limiting genre boundaries, that is the sum of FADE ON. A musical project from Brooklyn native Sam Schall. Getting us ready for Halloween FADE ON’s latest single, “Last,” will ignite your holiday.  With a pop melodic sensibility, Schall’s vocals conveys lyrics about dualities of nature. Schall explains, “We have our darkness and we have our light. I don’t think we should get attached to either, but instead embrace the growth that comes from each.” The track has surprises abounding, subtleties, vocal counterpoints and builds to and epic ending. FADE ON is bending the rules and making it musical! That’s the short of it!

Positives:

Schall has a strong vocal presence. His tunes offer crafted variations in feels, intensity and vocal harmonies, all with distinctive writing and performances.

Bottom Line:

FADE ON has constructed a track that rebels against our expectations with “Last.” The melody is catchy as Schall invokes interesting vocal harmonies and counterpoint. The song has lyrics that are interesting and flow. I could easily see this tune on the TV show Lucifer, it has the right intensity, charisma and panache to strike the right mood.
