Jason Gould, the son of recording legend Barbra Streisand and actor Elliott Gould, has released his first full length album, Dangerous Man. The CD was produced by the legend that is Quincy Jones/Qwest Records and contains 12-tracks that are a mixture of standards, pop songs, and original songs. Dangerous Man features four songs Co-written by Marsha Malamet. The title cut, “Dangerous Man” (Gould/Alan Roy Scott/Malamet,) “Morning Prayer: The Tribal Version” (Gould/Liz Vidal/Malamet,) “All’s Forgiven” (Gould/Alan Roy Scott/Allan Rich/Malamet,) and “One Day” (Gould/Malamet.). A mix of covers and original material works very well, and Gould is a crooner through and through. Gould has a definite grasp of the technical aspect of singing and his vocal versatility and ability to convey the emotional depth of every song makes this album a pure joy to hear! That’s the short of it!

An outstanding premiere recording that has a perfect balance of covers and originals. The arrangements of the cover tunes are stunning, and Gould is able to make the tracks his own with his unique and passionate phrasing, ornamentations, clear diction and smooth vocal style.

Bottom Line:

Being Gould’s first full length album, Dangerous Man is glorious! Gould possesses a beautiful voice, and the arrangements are unique and fit Gould’s style perfectly. He makes these twelve songs his own. The overall sound is romantic and passionate as Gould’s voice leads us through many styles and moods, this will be an album to enjoy again and again.
