Fred McKinnon is a pianist and composer based in Georgia. McKinnon has been playing piano since he was big enough to crawl up on a piano bench and that drive, and passion burned even while attending Georgia Southern University on scholarship. McKinnon obtained his Bachelor of Music, double-majoring in Piano Performance and Theory/Composition.  He also learned the power of music to touch others in ways words never can and that understanding has allowed him to create musical settings perfect for: devotional times of prayer, meditation, instrumental worship, soaking worship, studying music, sleeping music, and relaxation music. McKinnon is bringing his gift to create a special space with music to the Christmas catalog as he is releasing Silent Night (Christmas Piano Instrumental). It includes both solo piano and orchestrated music through seven Christmas favorites that is perfect for personal listening, family gatherings, or any time that a relaxing festive mood will set the perfect cheer. That’s the short of it!

Positives:

Fred Mckinnon’s touch on the piano is pensive and beautiful, his lyrical approach is filled with elegance and charm.

Bottom Line:

Silent Night (Christmas Piano Instrumental) is a wonderful journey through Christmas chestnuts. McKinnon is inspired, his sophisticated and nuanced approach on classics like “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” offers a polished sound that resonates with spirit. “The First Snow,” is particularly touching, with a comeliness that is moving and exhibits grace. A high value production number is “Coronation,” a powerfully performed piece with stirring instrumentation and compelling performances by all. Silent Night (Christmas Piano Instrumental) is a melodious addition to any holiday collection. A solid listen throughout.
