Hailing from Brighton, Edward Sansom is an emerging artist that fuses catchy melodies with dark melodic musings. “I aim to create a melancholic euphoria within my songs – to cut through the sweetness of pop with a razor-sharp blade. Inventing a blissful yet cold ‘New Dark Pop’ genre,” explains Sansom.  His credits include winning a bursary from the Real Unsigned Project [Arts Council England] to record tracks in 2016. Sansom then gained support from the local BBC Introducing team, having his tracks chosen as Track of the Day on BBC Sussex & BBC Surrey, with his recent release of his single “Headlock” specifically picked for the Drive Time Show.  Sansom is releasing new material throughout 2019, starting with his first single “Can’t Fight Them All.”

Positives:

A swirling melody, supporting by edgy hard-hitting beats and sexy guitar lines. The song drives and delivers.

Bottom Line:

The song explores themes of learning how to conquer defeat and setbacks. It also has undertones of Sansom coming to terms with his own anxieties. His salacious voice rings through the track with a powerful elixir of sexuality. Sansom explains his inspiration behind the track, “The voices you hear in your head lifting you up and putting you down. The song form has solid feel and a catchy chorus. Sansom has a clear singing vocal style, as he sings about putting yourself into training to defy self-doubt. To learn how to fight.” An anthemic call to action, Sansom has created a stirring listen, one you will want to revisit often. That’s the short of it!
