Australian soulstress Alyson Murray is back at it again, blending elements of Soul, RnB and Pop with a seductive and enticing sound that uplifts and enlivens.  We first got a taste of Murray’s style from her debut album Breathe in 2018 (read review HERE). Through 2019, Murray began  posting a series of A Capella videos on Instagram, with hashtag #AMSESSIONS. This series started in New York and captured the rawness of Murray’s songwriting. The September 2019 single release of “Come to Me” is the results of an #AMSESSION. On “Come To Me,” Murray features an all-female line up of New York artists, pianist Kelly Green, guitarist Alicyn Yaffee, bassist Michelle Osbourne and drummer Lucianna Padmore.

Positives:

Together they capture the energy of Murray’s synergized songwriting style.

Bottom Line:

Murray focuses on positive and uplifting themes lyrically. Her nu-soul style fuses elements of pop and gospel, with just the right amount of soul. “Come To Me” is the celebration of Murray’s faith in patience and the emotion of waiting for and trusting that all things happen at the right time. Her scintillating vocal style is stunning. She embodies what you look for in great singers. With the release of “Come To Me,” she is well on her way to cementing her place as a soulful singer. What also makes this an exceptional listen is her writing ability. Murry was a knack for writing memorable melodies “Come To Me,” is certainly top-shelf. That’s the short of it!
