Sofia Boyden, Prove You Wrong Review
Sofia Boyden was born in Missoula, Montana, and raised in Gig Harbor, Washington. Her love of music started early as she has been performing and writing songs since she was eight years old. Boyden was raised to always believe that hard work pays off and she applied that to her music. Her focus on songwriting and singing was constant and goal minded. Boyden’s true love has always been country music, and upon graduating she went to Nashville to work on her upcoming EP with Grammy nominated producer Jeff Pardo (Ben Rector, Lady Antebellum, Danielle Bradberry). The first single, “Blame It On My Heart,” is about being unapologetically you. “I wanted to write a song that tells what it really feels like when you’re head over heels a lot quicker than expected. This is a song for those people who go all in, even on the first date, and aren’t afraid to be themselves and feel what they feel,” says Boyden. The EP is set to release on November 8th of 2019. Now, Boyden is releasing the second single title, “Prove You Wrong.”

Positives:
Solid songwriting, production and positive lyrics. Boyden’s singing is spirited and conveys the message with heart and style.
Bottom Line:
“Prove You Wrong” is a song for everyone who needs to know that you should never, ever give up. Boyden states, “So many times in my life, I have been put down because people didn’t believe in my dreams with me. And I needed to write a song that said, ‘I’m not going to tell you you’re wrong, I’m going to show you you’re wrong.’” Pardo did a wonderful job creating the perfect surrounding to allow Boyden’s warm country styled voice to shine. The various feels and big chorus keeps the music flowing. It is obvious that the lyrics are meaning full to Boyden as she sings with conviction. The guitar solo is solid and leads us to the second half of the song that keeps the energy going. Boyden’s two singles are a solid introduction to this country artist that is on her way to an amazing journey in her music career. That’s the short of it!
