Positives:
Fever has received much acclaim for her gritty lyrics, and soulful voice. “Let The Music Save Me,” is a well-penned tune, that has a memorable hook and relatable lyrics.
Bottom Line:
“Let the Music Save Me,” was co-written in Nashville with Leslie Satcher (who we reviewed in June, 2018 [button type="link" link="https://staccatofy.com/blues/leslie-satcher-review/" size="btn-xs" variation="btn-default" target="blank"]Read Review[/button]), and recorded by Jeff Calvert (Judas Priest, Sarah Brightman) in his studio in the woods. The EP provides an insight into Scarlette’s experience of a succession of abusive relationships whilst struggling to come to terms with her sexuality. Her voice is stunning, the instrumentation features a tough of acoustic panache, with just enough electrified bite to enthrall the listener. Fever continues to put forth unforgettable lyrics with solidly penned story songs that connects with and offers relatable themes for the listener. Fever is the real deal, a full-throated vocalist, who uses her range in service of the music and the marrow of the lyric. The impending EP, December Prayer, features two originals “December Prayer” and “Let The Music Save Me.” With two classic re-arranged tunes “Silent Night and “O Holy Night.” This is a welcomed addition to the holiday fabric, worth the price of admission.
