The hard-hitting Parisian blues band Jessie Lee & The Alchemists have released their debut album, an eleven track self-titled album that is a mixture of covers and originals. With Jessie Lee Houllier (vocals, guitar) and Thae Alchemists: Alexis Didier alias Mr Al (guitar), Laurent Cokelaere (bass), Julien Audigier (drums) and keyboardist Laurian Daire. Together the group pumps out a strong blues and rock sound that will keep your attention for the full fifty-five-minute duration. Jessie Lee has a powerful voice that is drenched in the blues tradition and paired with Mr. Al, who riffs fiery solos, they are a perfect blend of rockin’ blues, bringing an energy and strong musical presentation to the music. The music covers many feels and styles, but always offers a clear mix of blues, soul, rock, and jazz. Jessie Lee & The Alchemists are an exciting band with a musical vibe that is a bit of a throwback to the sound of the 60’s and 70’s, but with enough of the bands unique influence to make the music sound fresh and alive.
